Aloo Matar / Aloo Mutter


Note: Aloo Matar is a Vegetarian Main Course made with potatoes and peas. It is a North Indian (Punjabi) dish.

Ingredients

Peas: ½ kg

Potato: 2 number

Tomato: 1 number (big)

Onion: 2 number (medium)

Garlic: 3 tablespoon (crushed)

Coriander leaves: 1 handful

Green Chilly: 2 numbers

Coriander Powder: 2 tablespoon

Turmeric Powder: ¼ teaspoon

Mustard: 2 teaspoon

Garam Masala Powder: 1 teaspoon

Oil: 3 tablespoon

Salt: as required


Method

Heat pan & splutter mustard. Add chopped onion, potato, green chilly & sauté well for 5 minutes.

Add crushed garlic & sauté. To this add coriander powder, turmeric, salt, garam masala & sauté till raw smell of masala goes.

Add chopped tomatoes & sauté for 2- 3 minutes & add required water for cooking.

When boil comes add coriander leaves. Cook till potatoes & peas are done, on medium flame.

Serve with chapatti or rice.
