Banana Fritters (Pazham Pori)

Banana / Plantain / Nenthrapazham / Ethakka (ripe): 3 numbers

All-purpose Flour / Maida: 2 cups

Cumin seeds / Jeera: ½ teaspoon

Sugar: ½ teaspoon

Turmeric Powder: A pinch

Salt: As per taste


Take a bowl, add 2 cups of flour to it

Add salt, cumin seeds (jeera), sugar, pinch of turmeric powder and mix well (Lumps should not form in the mix)

The mix should be in semi thick consistency. Keep it aside for 5 minutes

Cut each banana in to 2 – 4 pieces (as per size of banana)

Heat oil in a deep bottomed vessel

Dip banana pieces in flour mix and put in oil for frying

Fry till light golden brown in colour

Tasty banana fritters are ready to serve
