Raw Rice: 2 cups

Urad Dal / Bengal gram: 1 cup

Cooked rice: ½ cup

Oil: 3 tablespoon

Salt: as required


Grind rice, Bengal gram, & cooked rice separately by adding water in a thick & soft consistency.

Keep it overnight

Take batter add 1 tsp of salt & 1 cup water. Mix well. Spread the batter in idli vessel & keep for cooking for 15 – 20 minutes on medium flame.

Idli is ready. Serve with sambar or coconut chutney.
